Here's my idea to prevent an artificial super intelligence (ASI) from destroying the planet: we motivate it to rewrite all the world's big legacy applications: SAP, Salesforce, you name it. In Rust of course. This will either give us an extra 50 years or the ASI will go crazy and self-destruct.

It is often said that western democracies are incompatible with fundamentalist Islam and I agree. More broadly though, I think that western democracy is incompatible with *any* religion that seeks to blend the state and the church and/or decrees itself to be "preferred."

This makes so much sense given how hard it is to read medical imaging results. While humans have a million years+ of evolution guiding their observations of the external environment they have relatively little xp with these kinds of images.
Now here's an example of one of the more useful applications of #AI and #MachineLearning within #Medicine. AI-assisted doctors are significantly better at detecting breast cancers in women. This kind of usage directly saves people's lives. #Science #MedSky 🧪💊

Oh @alaskaairlines.bsky.social - first time I've flown with you in years but hampered by basic usability issues on your site. 1st example: the calendar that shows up with pricing if you pick flexible dates is just pricing roulette. 2nd: a seat selector where you can't pick seats.
