BIG NEWS: I've signed a contract with @universitypress.cambridge.org for my next book (and first monograph) called 'Kant and the British Moralists' - a comprehensive account of Kant's relationship to 18th-century British moral philosophy. It should be out in 2027!

I'm in Pavia this week giving a series of lectures on Kant's moral philosophy. Super lovely town, and one of its churches has the remains of Augustine of Hippo and Boethius! (San Pietro in Ciel d'Oro)

Two interesting finds here at the university library in Mainz today: the first is the last known portrait of Kant (from 1802) from a Königsberg student's autograph book, and the second is a 1926 dissertation finding similarities in the lectures notes from Kant's courses on moral philosophy

In Edinburgh for a few days for a workshop about the reception of Locke in 18th-C Germany, hosted by the Institute for Advanced Studies in the Humanities. I'll be talking later today about how Locke's rejection of innate ideas influenced German 'popular philosophers'
