Nice night for a little backyarder. Firewood made in Amherst NY, beer made in Poland (Polish beer is VERY underrated), music mix on my headphones assorted.

This 4th of July, I went to my boyhood neighborhood & a party hosted by a childhood friend. We shared memories, toasted their late father, and enjoyed their traditional backyard fireworks. But the highlight was wiffle ball on the field where I last set foot to play sandlot baseball 41 years ago.

Red shirts usually met bad fates,
Gee our Enterprise ran great,
Those were the daaaaaaays!" 🎵

My daughter did a thing around Otsego Lake in New York State on Saturday. Ran her first full marathon. That's her passing through Cooperstown at around mile 10. God Bless her, she finished. After, while she rested and enjoyed one-on-one time with Mom, Dad was given some free time to run free...

Day one of the Conclave is done, and we still await a new pope. For my non-Catholic friends, here's a reminder of how it works:
If the smoke is black, it means they've not yet elected a pope.
If it's white, it means they have.
If it's a light blue-grey, it means their burgers are about ready.

Thank you, Pope Francis, for your guidance, love, and your example.
Requiescat in Pace, Il Papa.

When you try to handle too many sparkling water cans, one slips and hits the corner of the counter...
I've heard of "Jager Bombs" and maybe had a couple in my life, but "Weggy Bomb?" That's a first.

Sometimes there are long gaps between posts on the Soundcloud site I manage for the Diocese of Buffalo. That doesn't mean it's slow. During those gaps I'm either working on other needs or I'm developing future content. For example, Season 4 of "Sister Justine's Saint Tales," is now in development.

When my family adopted Minnie in late 2020, we were told she was born around March of that year. So, we picked St. Patrick's Day for her "birthday." She is sweet, cuddly, sometimes goofy. We don't know much about her kittenhood but I suspect it was troubled, as you can see from her baby picture...

Had to report to work at 4:30 a.m. this #AshWednesday to assist one of our priests with scheduled TV news interviews. Ended up his on-camera model for receiving ashes.

Over the weekend the Diocese of Buffalo celebrated its annual Bishop's Altar Server Awards Mass, honoring more than 50 local boys & girls for their exemplary service at their respective parishes.
I was one of those kids 41 years ago. That's my medal next to this year's program.

Cuddle time for Minnie means cleaning herself for several minutes before finally falling asleep in my lap. Of course, the moment she finally drifts off to sleep is the moment I need to get up.
