Remembering John Lennon,
(9 Oct 1940 – 8 Dec 1980)

the legendary artist who was taken from us way too early by some demon, 45 years ago in New York.

It feels like the world still hasn’t come to terms with this.
Sorry that we failed you 🙏 🕯️

Glimpses of @willdalrymple.bsky.social's super impressive home library of Indian history books and more. Absolute dream! I wonder how he reaches the books at the top...

Absolutely mesmerised by this beautiful painting of Tolkien's Varda - Queen of the Valar and Lady of the Stars! ✨

Incredible how Tolkien's creations have inspired so many talented artists!

This week I’m taking a break from all the Polish literature and reading this 📚

The legendary Jack Kerouac, hero of the Beat Generation and inspiration of the Hippies. Author that’s been on my mind for quite some time.

‘On The Road’, ‘The Dharma Bums’ and ‘Lonesome Traveller’. #booksky #books

Apparently there are people who think this film is too boring or too long…

What the hell do you mean, this is one of the greatest films ever made!! It’s perfect in every way

I had a lovely wholesome interaction there at the top. I was sitting under this map resting and a guy asked me to take a photo of him next to this map. He said he had walked this whole red trail, 500km, in 20 days. And he had the last 4km to Ustroń where I had hiked from. I was amazed! #LodaTravels

Went on a short mountain trip in the Polish Beskidy this Sunday, near the town Ustroń.

It was a short climb but my muscles still hurt now. I definitely need to do this more often and train my body. Somehow I've survived. 9 km total. Had nice time. #LodaTravels

Sam Dalrymple’s debut ‘Shattered Lands’ is my favourite book of the year! 💚

Years of his research and travels went into this compendium of modern South Asian history. It shines light on many not well known facts and offers many interesting fun anecdotes. #booksky #books #history

Chilly Sunday, with rainy moody clouds, finally a bit colder here.

Perfect day for cozy watching films and doing literally nothing else the entire day. I've got hundreds of classic films to go through! Don't even know where to start!

For today: Godfather, Yojimbo, Sergio Leone

52 years ago JRR Tolkien left this world.

Professor’s incredible legacy continues to inspire generations to this day and certainly will do so for centuries to come.

(I should perhaps finally read some Two Towers today…) #tolkien #booksky #lotr

One day I want to explore all these beautiful far away places (and much more!)

I will bring back something nice from there.

It will be my message to humanity, my humble contribution, my mission.

But the most interesting one seems this!
The High Road to China (2006) by Kate Teltscher, have a look at the synopsis.

And the cover quote by @willdalrymple.bsky.social so one more to the collection!

I’ve got too many books to read and not enough time…

So therefore I just bought 5 more yay! 📚

Including this one by Lawrence James on the British Raj from 1997, wanted to read it for a long time. Need to learn more history! #booksky #history

Reading today “The Coming Spring” (1924) by S. Żeromski, a Polish classic. Love the vintage cover!

It’s a story of young Pole who grew up in Baku. He flees to post-WW1 Poland inspired by his father’s utopian tales where he confronts political unrest and tries to find his path. #booksky #books

Yesterday first time at gym, muscles still hurt.

Sleeping very well recently, every day feels well organised and productive. Reading and writing a lot.

Ever since I started journaling I’m feeling more confident with writing and expressing my thoughts. Recommend it to everyone!

Recently finished the fantastic ‘Shattered Lands’ by Sam Dalrymple, modern masterpiece!

Now I can finally return to ‘Return of a King’, such an amazing and gripping adventure! Left it halfway, busy with so many other readings... @willdalrymple.bsky.social #booksky

(P.S. the best intro quote ever!)
