Oh and cleveland-dot-com released an "editorial board roundtable" shortly thereafter in which all but one of their editors said ending the downtown safety patrol would be a mistake: www.cleveland.com/opinion/2025...

Is this a thing? I've lived in 4 states (blue and red) and never heard of it. Or is this one of those things that is only known to cause cancer in the state of California?

I don't think this is inconsistent with Ezra's thesis at all. Everything bagel liberalism is only bad when it hinders imperfect (but clearly net-positive) projects from happening at.

It's not about avoiding positive synergies, it's about not letting the perfect be the enemy of the good.

Entrance barriers seem to be the best metric IMO.

You CAN spend thousands of dollars over time on even cheap hobbies, but if you want to take up, say, skiing you're going to be dropping most of that money up front.

Conversely you can access 80% of all video game content for $500-1k, or even less.

Both federal and state laws prohibit (and in some cases criminalize) public employees and officials who accept of gifts of value from improper sources, regardless of whether any explicit quid pro quo exists.

This is not an example of an Oxford comma. The Oxford comma is a serial comma used when writing a list. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serial_...

This usage is a bracketing comma. www.sussex.ac.uk/informatics/...

Doesn't the law have a five-year statute of limitations for the fines? And it's $5k per user x 170 million US users?

Google and Apple are making a big bet that the next administration will have the same "vibes" as the current one.
