Maybe it was because when council members introduced legislation back in April to pause the downtown safety patrol they were accused by local and state officials of defunding the police.

Is this a thing? I've lived in 4 states (blue and red) and never heard of it. Or is this one of those things that is only known to cause cancer in the state of California?
