In normal times, DOJ wins most of its cases because it has the resources to ensure that presidential actions are lawful. But under Trump, the Department is run by a sycophantic election denying enabler. The result is DOJ's credibility with judges is in tatters and it is losing case after case.

You do not need to be a lawyer to read this sentence: "No person shall ... be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law."

(In FDR's words, the Constitution is a layman's document - it's not (just) for the lawyers!)
WELKER: Your secretary of state says everyone who's here, citizens and non-citizens, deserve due process. Do you agree?

TRUMP: I don't know. I'm not a lawyer. I don't know.

WELKER: Don't you need to uphold the Constitution?

TRUMP: I don't know

Welcome President Obama to BlueSky. Happy 15th birthday to the ACA aka "Obamacare." Intended to be a slur, just imagine if we called Social Security "FDR Security!" Obama got it done.
Figured I’d hop on here today for the 15th anniversary of the Affordable Care Act.

With everything going on right now, it’s easy to feel like regular folks can’t make a difference – but the ACA is a reminder that change is possible when we fight for progress.

Musk retweeted a message that Hitler, Stalin and Mao did not kill millions, but their public sector employees did.

It was part of his massively paranoid attack on public employees.

But those employees he fired save lives. He, and his DOGE minions, will kill millions.

It was true in 1938, and it's true today. You don't get peace through appeasement. Should've held the line, Senator Schumer.

Mildred Ethel Holcomb Brennan 1891-1984. My great-grandmother, she owned and ran Nana's Tea Room in Girard, PA, and made all the desserts served there. A widow since 1936, she was the family matriarch and as a business owner, the family bread winner.

Thinking of Nana on Int'l Women's Day 2025!

The purge of talent continues in the federal government. I know personally the person who wrote this. They expect to lose their job too, as senior officials will be made to undergo some sort of loyalty test. My friend will fail. They will fail, even after a lifelong career of exemplary service.

Canada is Ohio's top trading partner. In 2023, Ohio exported $21.4B in goods to Canada, which was 38% of Ohio's total exports.

Trudeau's response to Trump's tariffs is a 25% tariff back on $155B on US goods, $30 In on Tuesday, and the rest 21 days after that -- that's going to hurt Ohio. 1/2

On his second day in office, Trump summarily fired every member of the Aviation Security Advisory Committee as part of dismembering the Department of Homeland Security.

Maybe it was just more convenient to blame DEI without any evidence.

True for Colombia, for Mexico, for Canada, for Denmark, for China, the list goes on and on.
Starting an avoidable trade war is not strength. It’s weakness.

Strength would be able to fix this without pouting and throwing a fit. Trump is still a child, a weak, scared, whiney, child

Sad obsequious bend-the-knee messaging from the Chinese-owned and Chinese-government-controlled social media company. Which I have enjoyed, yes. So giving our data to the Chinese is out of the question, as we give it to Elon and Zuck and GM and so on to make money off us and use against us.
