That’s funny: I have the totally opposite approach. As long as I can tell if I’ll like the general tone, I want to know as little as human possible before I see a film.

Look, I generally like your posts and comments, but this sounds like a complaint against the whole genre, not Perkins in particular.

I’ll confess, when I realized that it was produced by Tencent, I got pretty worried. But the fact that it’s on Criterion — to which I subscribe, anyway — means that I won’t directly be funding a company complicit in some of the CCP's more horrific tech-enabled abuses.
