Turns out deploying Guard forces not trained for police work didn't reduce crime. But we know what does: community violence intervention, economic opportunity, youth job programs, investments in neighborhoods. Link in comments

To make the most of this win the next battle will be to make sure that impacted community voices are part of the review process—something the MDOC has rarely (ever?) done well.
