I saw Omar multiple times that day. Other parts of the day I was at my office (which is nearby) and Omar was dog sitting Maple a couple of blocks down the street so it was an easy day for us to go back and forth. He was also preparing to drive north to visit his mom for her bday the next day (below)

For good measure, here are some texts we exchanged from the day that Omar supposedly got “arrested” (July 9th). I was working back and forth from my office and home, so as his roommate if we are both home I won’t generally text him or anything. But as you can see it was a normal day.

I posted this on Insta a couple days ago! I think the misinformation has been largely cleared up (the creator who “reported” it took the video down with an apology, other involved parties have provided info, and there seems to be a healthy convo about how to read legal documents), but just in case!

Finished my assignment, so I did another art ritual to “clock out.” Some watercolors today and a signal to my brain that my time is mine again. 💕👽

Now that that’s done I can finally walk my poor dog! She’s been whining the whole time. (Can you tell a lot of my morning routine is taken up by Fig?)

I normally walk my dog after art but I had a pitch at 9, so I quickly prep for it by re-reading my materials. I also make sure my Zoom screen is presentable and throw on an overshirt to pretend I got dressed (chose a colorful one because my show is very puppet-y and colorful!)

Every morning I do some painting for art therapy while I drink my iced coffee. It helps to wake me up, sort through my subconscious, and have some tangible work to do that is creative and not writing or on a screen. Usually they’re abstract and no one sees them but I like these poppies I did.

I’m still trying to figure out what kinda stuff to post here and I truly don’t know if anyone would care but since I’ve been asked this before on panels, I’ll give it a shot?? 8am is wake up time where this lil girl is very happy for me to be up and has been waiting.
