My PICO-8 game is nearly done. Not because I wanted to call it done, but because of the token limit 😅

I think I've achieved a decent result though! I'm gonna try to polish it up just a bit more and then I'll probably be ready to finally release it!

(also wanna add a BG if I can)

Here's the game so far. It doesn't have everything in it yet, but it's technically playable. Just need to make weapons, upgrades, a background, and menus. And things I forgot 😅

I've been sick for a while, and actually I'm still sick. But it's improved enough to where I'm able to work on stuff again.

In order to force myself to make something smaller, I'm working on a PICO-8 game! (nothing super exciting to show yet though)

I've encountered a massive difficulty I don't think I can solve, and now I think I have to work on a different game.

I've been trying to become a proper #gamedev for a long time, but I keep ending up in this spot. Either it's too hard, or I lose interest. (1/3)

A billion game ideas later, I've finally got to one I feel is small enough I can make in a reasonable time frame, and that I'm actually interested in making. Here's my progress so far, lots of physics based goodness here.

Anyone else ever work on an ending to their story, and as you flesh it out you start crying a little from the events?

I encountered an issue I can't solve in my game, so I'm switching gears. I have a plan for a smaller game I can make, but I had a (kinda batshit insane) idea for a VR game, so I'm gonna try to prototype that first.

So, after a bunch of experimentation, research, and frustration, I actually managed to fix my issue. *sort of*.

I can export successfully, and I can have blend shapes. But I cannot have blend shape animation exported correctly. I can live with this, even though it's annoying.

Seems my game is dead, and most of my future 3D game ideas too. Once again Blender and Unreal absolutely refuse to communicate correctly with each other for even the most basic of things and the only solution seems to be cutting everything dependent on those features.

I sure love #gamedev...

My new years resolution is to not quit my current game, or to salvage it for a smaller one if necessary. I have a very bad track record for finishing things so I wanna work on that.

Also wanna get better at Japanese and singing. 頑張ります!

I've been working some more on the mesh and I decided to compare the new version to the old version in-engine for funsies. Pretty happy with how it's developing. (Note, textures were just a test. I'll redo them from scratch later)

Been working on the base female human mesh! Trying to go for a mix of stylized and realistic. I'm planning to try and reuse the mesh for the male characters by just re-sculpting it, so hopefully that works out.
