look like vaguely worded memos which inspire concern, uncertainty and panic. It shouldn’t threaten vital services. It shouldn’t be rooted in hate.

We deserve better. Wisconsin needs funding and policy that delivers rather than attacks that distract.

There’s still hope to save it, though. It’s up to @govevers.wisconsin.gov and my colleagues in the new legislature to prioritize keeping people in their homes. This is a common sense, demonstrably successful program for Milwaukeeans –we should make it universal, not shut it down. (3/3)

This was a choice, not an inevitability. The program has saved Milwaukee tenants from hundreds of evictions –and saved our justice system tons of $$ on enforcing unfair evictions. But it wasn’t a priority for the Common Council or the County Board, who only provided short term funding. (2/3)

…Fully funding education with general revenue (including more progressive income and corporate taxes) would free up funds for municipalities and counties and allow a significant lowering of property taxes across the board.
