To be absolutely clear: RFK framing vaccines as the "cause" of Autism is eugenics. First and foremost its wrong by every scientific standard. But also theres an implication that we need to "cure" or prevent Autism. Neurodivergence is not a bad thing.

This. I’m tired of Autism being thrown around as an insult or derogatory descriptor. All it does is continue to stigmatize Autism and Autistic people and make us feel like a problem. People can, and should, do better so we can support each other. 💕
We really need to change the language around autism. We do not "suffer from autism spectrum disorder." Yes, being autistic comes with a myriad of different difficulties but also strengths... "Autism" isn't an insult. I keep hearing kids/teens using "Autistic" as an insult.

As someone with autism, it’s such a horrible feeling when you try to contribute to a conversation and get it thrown back in your face and treated like a stupid child. How can I learn to be better socially when people won’t even meet me half way?

This is still my advice: Become a writer anyway. Fuck it, do it, it won't save you, but it's still a beautiful dream to write novels and short stories and poems and mingle with other dreamers and make art and laugh in the face of death. And writing is constant death. Live más.
