Sweden wasn’t lagging behind. It was staying ahead and refusing to lower itself to other countries’ regression.

Those responsible don’t like being compared to the Nazis, thinking that 1930s Germans were some weird evil alien species. In reality, the vast majority were perfectly normal people willing to close eyes and ears. Deceived into thinking that the oppression wouldn’t affect them. Until it was too late.

Thank you for a summary of where not to go or spend money. After the Netherlands dropped the ball in 2010 I have grown an intense dislike of my country of birth. Imo Cordons Sanitaires against antidemocratic forces are essential. Trumpism would never have happened if Republicans had refused the pig.

I’m still not convinced there is something as “the news”. The U.S. still has free media. I think the majority of voters actually might have been stupid enough to vote for the pigs. Several of my liberal American friends are convinced of it. The problem isn’t the press. It is lack of education.

I’m glad I moved to Sweden before the rise of this nationalist nonsense. More than ready to renounce my Dutch citizenship and ditch my original language forever. In my opinion language is nothing but a tool, I never liked my original one, and did all of my work internationally without it.

As a European citizen I want EU leaders to STOP kissing Trump’s ass. Even if it costs me half of what I own (which it likely won’t). Join Ukraine in this war and turn the trickle feed of weapons into a barrage. I would rather not wake up in the morning than live in a world dominated by oligarchs.
