Some Good News™️ for you on this fine Thursday: Bill 43, an amendment to the Human Rights Code that expands protection to cover gender expression, passed its second reading in Manitoba legislature!

It still needs to pass a third reading/receive royal assent but it is ON ITS WAY!!

Tara Sheppard, director of a research group that deals with gender equity, spoke in favour of the bill and suggested there is an easy way for people to avoid being brought before the human rights commission.

“Here’s a simple solution — don’t violate people’s human rights,” she said.
