I'm guessing the mdf didn't quite fit the angle of the wood frame, so my grandad used the paper to fill the gap.

I have one (my great grandparents wedding gift!) that has an issue with the frame, so I've taken the c.1980 mdf backing off & found the original maker stamp.
Except this looks to be from 1926, and my dad says the wedding was earlier than that...

I used white elastic instead of the cotton, with velcro and fabric scraps on the ends. Visually this is much less busy, and the elastic was really great for ensuring a good fit of the cover.

This worked really well for getting a proper pattern around the rear rack, wheel lock and other fiddly bits. I just taped on extra paper where needed!

Mockup #2 was more successful! Plus using the cotton strips as tabs meant I could more easily remove the cover, and tighten it where needed.

This was ok-ish, but the fit wasn't right, and it took forever to remove or install the cover.

But I have found that an elastic loop around the leg and a clothes peg keeps everything under control.
Or for special events, a petticoat 😅😆

I have two Radermachera trees (white trumpet shaped flowers) that I planted as 1.2m saplings in 2019.
Until recently both were doing really well, but you can see that the one on the right is now yellowing.
What's going on?!?

I can remember how I felt when I took it - tired from travel, excited to be exploring, and intrigued by the challenge of water & reflections & ripples.
It is not a technically great photo, but to me it's perfect.
