This composition had eluded me for nearly a decade, but yesterday I was finally able to capture it. A train rolled through just as the Duquesne Incline was crossing over the tracks in #Pittsburgh, creating a picture perfect winter scene. It was worth the hours and hours I've waited over the years.

I know that I've been a bit quiet on here lately, but I've still been capturing #pittsburgh everyday, and tonight I had the opportunity to capture some amazing images for Light Up NIght. These were shot from a helicopter over the city, and are some of my favorite holiday images I've ever captured.

Anybody else’s XFinity SNP feed terrible? Dropping frames, brightness changes, audio dropouts, etc? Seems to have improved a bit late in the period though.

I was going to compliment this draft format as the picks are not preceded by a 5 minute preamble thanking the host city, congratulating the reigning champs and shouting out the home fans, but I think the stiff, forced exchanges with the front offices is just as bad, of not worse.

A rainbow frames the Mister Rogers statue and downtown #Pittsburgh this evening from the North Shore, and while it had begun to fade by the time I got there (I capture it from the West End first), it was still plenty visible. Talk about an amazing view.

A few weeks ago I spent a morning running around #pittsburgh capturing the moon and had a bunch of luck on the 16th Street Bridge. The set perfectly on the top of the Highmark Building and in the spires of PPG Place, making for some really incredible scenes.

We've had some decent sunrises over the last few days in #Pittsburgh, but this morning's might be one of the best of the year. The way that the clouds caught the early morning light was amazing, and there was color in seemingly every corner of the sky. An amazing start to the day.

What a sunrise in #pittsburgh this morning. A perfect mix of colorful clouds and reflections in the Ohio River really made for an amazing view. I haven’t shot sunrise from this spot in a long time, at least not a colorful one, and today was certainly the morning to be there.

I’ve shot #pittsburgh from this spot during full moons and fireworks, but never at sunrise. I’m thinking that this view would make a great four seasons set, and luckily the springtime one is out of the way. Love how the steps lead right through the scene.

Mike Lange was the first person that made the Penguins cool in Pittsburgh — and you didn’t need to be there from the start to believe it.

Just an amazing sunrise in #Pittsburgh this morning, with vibrant color spreading the entire way across the horizon. I love capturing fiery skies like this reflecting in the frozen rivers, and today might be my favorite I've ever shot.

I've been trying to capture a snowglobe view of this perspective of the Duquesne Incline in #Pittsburgh for a few years (I already have a regular winter version) and a few days ago I was finally able to. The red car really stands out against the falling snow.

Something a little different today. Over the weekend we took a little trip to northwestern Ohio and one of the stops I made was Marblehead Lighthouse. There was some heavy snow the night before and it turned the entire park into a painting.

Penguins should aggressively shop Rickard Rakell He's the same player he was last year but perception this year is sky high

Got some film back over the weekend from #Pittsburgh during the snow last week, and my goodness does Portra 400 and winter go together. These views of the Duquesne Incline are some of my favorite I've ever shot on film.

I think we got more snow in the South Hills than in downtown #Pittsburgh this morning, but it was still a lot of fun running around capturing new snowglobe images. I'll a ton to share, but we'll start out with the North Shore, where I combined two exposures, one for the snow and one for the trees.

Snowy neighborhoods in #pittsburgh are some of my favorite subjects in the winter, and Frick Park and the North Side are near the top of that list. On Friday I was able to find this amazing reflection on Reynolds Street before heading over to Manchester for a snowy view of Sheffield Street.

What a morning in #Pittsburgh. The city was really out there looking like a winter wonderland, and it was so much fun to capture. I’ll have images from all over the city to share, but we’ll start with a classic from the Duquesne Incline.

It was a snowglobe kinda night in #Pittsburgh this evening, and I was down on the North Shore to capture it. The bridges are back to their traditional gold instead of the light show that played for the last month, and they looked beautiful beneath the falling snow.

Ending the year right in #Pittsburgh this morning. What a sunrise it was over the Steel City, with the clouds catching that early morning light from one side of the city to the next. It was an amazing scene from the West End Overlook, and a great way to bookend the year.

Merry Christmas everyone.

Last night after my family went to bed I headed into #Pittsburgh to capture some serene scenes of the city, including this one from the West End Bridge. It was awesome to see the buildings lit up in festive colors.
