I guess both my grandfathers fought fascism so we could get same-day shipping and tear each other apart in a fog of lies on the internet. As gov’t runs roughshod over us, it’s no sacrifice to jettison consumerist ties to the oligarchy. We should not power or abide any of it.
I found this pic, from 12/16/20, while looking back through those I took in the few days around the day we adopted our dog Polli. We love her so much, we love each other more for also loving her. Polli, the rodeo we’re riding in is a lot more fun with you riding along. Lucky dogs, all of us! #dog

“We seek no special treatment and believe in our ability to compete for federally funded research strictly on merit.”

Go Cats! This is, overall, encouraging news. Afterall, Arizonans are seasoned rodeo riders. #NoCompact

I threw 6 dinner plates for a coworker this weekend. He asked me to document it. Here is a superspedup video of me prepping 25 lbs of clay and throwing one off the plates. Next week I’ll trim more than half the clay off these and recycle the scraps to make something else. ❤️ it! #ceramics #pottery

Ended up using white shino and am happy with all the different things it and the fire decided to do together. Love this little guy! #pottery #ceramics

I make all natch #soap as a hobby “business” called Pip Company. I just cut up a batch of my Zero Waste Pip Soap: unscented soap with trimmings from previous batches mixed in.Terrazzo, or bologna? We’ll see when it cures. It’ll go to a couple of my brave friends who are opening a store in Tucson.

Little teapot in progress. Clay is Soldate 60 Cone 10. Fires rough to the touch. I’ve been into White Shino glaze but don’t know what to do here. It’ll be a reduction fire in a gas kiln. If any potters see this I’d like to hear glazing suggestions! #pottery #ceramics

Just look at these paragraphs from the AP story.

Hegseth called Brown unqualified solely because he's Black. Then they fired him... and replaced him with a white guy so indisputably unqualified that he requires a Presidential waiver.

This is what "merit" means to them.

anyway as i've argued before any class politics worth its name is not going to treat identity as an obstacle to solidarity but as an asset. "we all suffer in different ways under capitalism and the only way to relieve your particular suffering is to help me relieve mine and vice versa."

For the last 2 years I’ve spent most my weekend time practicing on the pottery wheel. Always practicing. It’s a sanity saver. Big haul today from this month’s firing. Stripes, spouts and the best bowls so far, made using a new technique I learned in the rad class I am taking. #pottery #ceramics

i think it is important to say that the open and explicit racism of the president and the vice president isn’t just uncouth or “controversial” but a direct attack on tens of millions of americans and a dereliction of their duty to represent the entire country

The news is covering the Fork in the Road email as an “incentive”, “offer” or even an “invitation” to resign when it is
a threat: be a political loyalist or get fired. The email is a disgusting attempt to frighten and politicize. Why is the news media calling it anything else?

This hangs above my she-wolves’ water bowl. Also wanted a sign made of license plates spelling out BITCHES 4 LIFE. I took this before crying in my kitchen then making dinner. In the Atlantic I read that women spend more time with pets than people. Tempting, but the time for us to reconnect is now.
