One of my favorite advertising tropes from the early-mid 60's, was the insistent shoehorning of the Beatles and rock n roll music into ads by people who clearly had never actually seen or heard of the Beatles or rock n roll music (Family Fare in Holland, Michigan 1964)
A grocery circular that features a half-hearted rock n roll/Beatles theme, featuring terrible Beatles caricatures and an ad copy that reads "let your hair down and hurry to Family Fare soon. We've gone wild this week and are having a real SWINGIN SALE! You'll find big savings in every department...besides our fantastic Everyday Low Prices on over 4000 items.
