Just remember ALL CAPS when you say HOWAY THE LADS
I do feel like Ramsdale would help us control the ball so much better, but it’d be a disruption to the communication/chemistry Pope has with the backline.

Either way, I don’t think we see Ramsdale in PL/CL unless Pope is injured or has an absolute howler

OVERALL:
For #NUFC, this is a clash of flaws. Our disjointed buildup will be ruthlessly punished by their press. However, their suicidal high line is the perfect antidote—if we can release wingers in behind. A game decided by which team exploits the other's fatal flaw. #HTL

💪 KEY STRENGTH:
← Orchestrating pre-planned movements & passing sequences to beat any press.
🛑 KEY WEAKNESS:
← The high line and aggressive positioning are extremely vulnerable to quick counters and long balls in behind.
November 25, 2025 at 4:02 AM
🚫 WITHOUT THE BALL:
← They deploy an aggressive high press and a very compact 4-2-3-1 mid-block.
← The entire team constantly "squeezes" the pitch, pushing up to compress space.
← They rely on an immediate counter-press from the nearest 4-5 players to win the ball back.
November 25, 2025 at 4:02 AM
⚽️ WITH THE BALL:
← Marseille build with a structured 3-1-5-1, using the GK as an extra defender.
← Their system relies on "third-man" combinations to slice through presses.
← They are possession-obsessed but will go direct to exploit man-to-man pressing.
← Fluid rotations create central overloads.

OVERALL:

For #NUFC, this is a tactical nightmare. City’s high press will feast on their disjointed buildup around Woltemade, while Newcastle’s currently ineffective high press likely leads to City dominating possession. A monumental challenge.

🛑 KEY WEAKNESS:

←The commitment to central overloads and high fullbacks leaves space in wide areas.
←They are vulnerable to quick counter-attacks and direct switches of play.
November 21, 2025 at 2:24 AM
💪 KEY STRENGTH:

←Executing rapid, intricate passing sequences in congested central areas.
←They can slice a defence open in seconds through pure technical synergy and movement.
November 21, 2025 at 2:24 AM
🚫 WITHOUT THE BALL:

←They suffocate opponents with an intense, coordinated high press.
←Their compact shape, a direct result of their in-possession central overloads, squeezes the pitch.
←The counter-press is immediate and brutal, snuffing out transitions at the source.
November 21, 2025 at 2:24 AM
⚽️ WITH THE BALL:

←City are the masters of possession, built on controlling the centre.
←Wingers drift inside to create overloads.
←This leads to a barrage of tight, one-touch passing combinations to shred defensive blocks.
←Fullbacks provide the necessary width.

I hope so. I think Howes trying to install more of a controlled possession approach for us…. But I think we could use more of a simple counter attacking setup for away matches.

Would love to see that with Elanga cut loose

Final Thought

Brentford are direct and dangerous on the break, but their set-piece attack is inefficient. We must be disciplined in defense, use our pace in wide areas, and capitalize from dead balls. A game where our transitional style could shine.

Key Battles 🔑
→ Our high defensive line vs. their fast breaks – must avoid being caught out.
→ Midfield duel: Bruno/Tonali need to dominate against Henderson and control transitions.
→ Set-piece showdown: our aerial threat vs. their solid set-piece defense.
November 7, 2025 at 2:33 AM
Without the Ball 🛡️
→ Aggressive press even after taking the lead, maintaining a compact shape.
→ Organized defensively with few errors and strong set-piece defense (only one conceded).
→ But can be exposed by quick counters, as seen vs Crystal Palace.
November 7, 2025 at 2:33 AM
With the Ball ⚽
→ Direct, vertical attacks with low possession (39.7%) and high fast breaks (1.6/game).
→ Relies on long passes and Michael Kayode's long throws as a potent weapon.
→ Thiago is a clinical finisher, especially in the air, and they often score early.

I hope it happens for you lot — just not today!

I do think Frank is a good hire, but also there’s a lot of structural training he’s probably trying to redo. Hopefully he gets enough of a runway to make it happen for yas

Tottenham are set-piece strong but open-play inconsistent. We must neutralize their dead-balls and use our pace on the break.

Key Battles 🔑

→ Our set-piece defense vs. their aerial threat – Van de Ven is dangerous.
→ Our transition pace vs. their advanced full-backs – our wingers can exploit spaces.
October 29, 2025 at 1:57 AM
Without the Ball 🛡️

→ Defend in a compact 4-4-2 mid-block with man-to-man pressing.
→ Force play wide and use pressing traps.
→ Solid with Palhinha parked in front of the backline, and Van de Ven covering.
October 29, 2025 at 1:57 AM
With the Ball ⚽

→ Use a 4-2-3-1 with direct play and long balls from Vicario.
→ Build quickly with Simons as No. 10 linking play.
→ Wingers provide width or cut inside for attacks.

Final Thought

Fulham are direct and progressive but defensively inconsistent. We must use our pace in wide areas and capitalize on set-pieces to break them down.
