Playing around with MotherDuck’s prompt() for something I’m working on and man it’s cool. Haven’t played much with Snowflake Cortex but may have to check it out and compare.

Came across this really cool tool that visually shows how transformers work built by a team at Georgia Tech.

If anything, this is an amazing implementation of visualization and a great use of Sankey diagrams.

More individuals should be encouraged to remain on the the individual contributor route.

Conversely, more organization should create titles and comp bands that make being a world-class individual contributor as lucrative as being a manager.

Quick stocking stuffer 🎁

Conditional table formatting just got a whole new look. No more fiddling around with dropdowns, just ask the AI exactly what you want and let it do the work.

#BSdata I want your opinion: if you have a file with 4K rows that has US and Canadian zip codes in one field and a numeric field, what would be your tool of choice to plot this on a map as quickly as possible?

Requirement: I need to be able to share it as a URL and the map needs to be interactive.

Every week or so I get a reminder that I live in a tech bubble. It feels like everyone I know is using the latest and greatest tech and data tool, when in reality most of the country (and world) still operates on spreadsheets and custom scripts floating around.

I totally agree and I think this isn’t fully appreciated. Building what we’ve built so far at Fabi would have taken us 2-3X the workforce a few years ago (perhaps even more). The price difference between legacy and newcomers isn’t value. It’s trying to square away the economics.

That you can build Twitter (bsky) with 20 people instead of 2000 means bsky can pursue monetization models that Twitter never could. This is a pattern I see across many startups now. Tech has gotten good enough to ship products at 10x-100x less cost compared to 20 years ago. 1/n

I need someone to explain to me why BS isn’t riddled with bots already. Does it take time for bot farms to get on a new platform?

I assume bots are automated and you just use APIs, no?

It feels like there’s a massive gap between data viz libraries and Figma/Adobe type visualizations and infographics.

I’m thinking it would be cool to blend the two. Not sure how that would work. Maybe something we’ll explore at Fabi.ai

I’d like to meet Terry and know why we hate him.

Having a customer ask to hop on a call to literally just tell you how much they love the product and ask you how they can help promote your product is a top 3 founder feeling.
