Correct the “pen trick” is essentially a bluff where you’re trying to represent one thing while having another. In the pod Gerry says that extremely high level players don’t focus on stuff like the pen trick so I provided an example of high level players at the pro tour utilizing it.

I would say that this is more of a bluff than just a pen trick. My follow up is: what are your thoughts on plays like this? Grey area or no? And is it in the same category as chalice checking people?
Side question: thoughts on invisible triggers in mtg being used as a gotcha (eg: exalted)
