Like Ignacio is a very mature feeling name for a little baby. But babies keep getting named that

...and then they get called Nacho.

which works great. Nacho is a perfectly youthful name.

There are just some names that have a very strong association with adults in the mind but you're sure a baby has to have had them at some point because the alternative is a coming of age name change, and that's just not very common

Julian is a weighty name for a little boy, which is probably why I'm quick to remember Julian is not the little boy.

I am going to be drawing a lot of Adela for the next couple of weeks. Yay! :D

I didn't think I was gonna manage to get in the mood to actually finish rough sketching the batch today, but I rough sketched 9 pages and felt like I hit a good stopping point, so I'm all set to start polishing.

Like is Pulcherrima the only elemental spirit in the comic without a tail or does she just have a short tail? Could go either way

I mainly remember how big he his when he's towering over everybody, but if he's leaning down AND most of his body is cropped out, my brain just defaults to how I draw normally sized people I guess

When he's leaning down but most of his torso is visible I don't have that issue

When drawing the panel this snippet came from, I actually got as far as laying down grays before I realized his head was initially drawn way too small(normal sized for a normal height person but since he's stupid tall it was small for him)

when a comic doesn't update regularly throughout the year, I do a wellness check to figure out when the next volume is dropping, which was the case with flavor girls just now and why this came to my mind.

One day, though.

One day I'm gonna do it.

I'm gonna get a sense of how to do it in a way that feels right to me and start giving characters cute little prints on their outfits. I'm going to doodle outfits until I put The Vision into reality.

It's one of those things I'd like to incorporate into an mg design of my own one day, but even when the opportunity has presented itself(like with the ranger scouts) I never feel like I've found the right spot to put it in.

Once I finish Julio's portrait, I'll have done all of Cecilia's immediate family. When that's done, I like the idea of Maripili getting a portait sometime soon. I think she'd be fun to work with as a portrait subject.
