when drawing cecilia I have to fight against the part of my brain that wants her to have a shorter, rounder face and clearly takes over whenever I sketch her based on how I have ended up having to revise face proportions to avoid that repeatedly as part of the refinement process

One of the little details I've always appreciated in Flavor Girls' mg designs was the little personalized patterns on parts of their mg outfits. Camille's bat print tights. The eyes on Naoko's tights + the moon and stars on her top. Sara's pineapple print.

While I do think the switch from webcomic to illustrated novel format for Purple Pond is better for allowing me to try things like putting the reader more in the characters' head, one downside is I keep wanting to add more pictures than I already have in the draft.
