How could a city, “which itself is a country”, possibly afford a building? 🧐
November 9, 2025 at 9:56 AM
Where is Mamdani going to find $50M for a building? That’s less than 1% of the annual NYPD budget for a building that will stand for 30+ years. And that’s before any future rental income and comes without investors taking a huge cut of the pie

If I’m walking down the street with my friends, and someone is yelling “WHY WON’T YOU VOTE FOR 99% HITLER?!” in my face, I’m not going to stop and debate them in the town square, I’m going to ignore them and keep walking

Identify the need, listen to them, and suggest more constructive alternatives. Use examples and show how the alternate method can produce the results they want without causing damage. They likely know they’re lashing out, etc., but don’t know what else to do

You might try to figure out what underlying need isn’t being met for them. They are very likely experiencing extreme distress about something, e.g. fear, unresolved anger about something happening, etc. When needs aren’t being met, you can get desperate and might try drastic things to fix it

For real. It’s such a nice change when you see human-written subtiles instead of the auto-generated trash. It’s super obvious

I think it’s better to work with the cis and broader trans community to achieve our goal. Cis/enby AFABs need hormones for birth control and dealing with menopause. I’m sure there are cis men/enby AMABs have needs too. I don’t need to understand their specific med needs to wish them the same freedom

The history of trans liberation didn’t start in 2014, and it likely won’t end in either of our lifetimes. Advocacy for rights and justice takes time, generations. And working with other people who want the same things you do
October 30, 2025 at 7:22 PM
The “Educate the Masses” approach doesn’t work. It hasn’t worked for unregulated birth control or cannabis, or for racism, or sexism, or anything else. You’re blaming other trans people for the lack of progress instead of the people and systems actually doing the harm

Last reply, as I can see I’m wasting my time. I dont understand how you can’t identify this belief as a transmed one

transtrender - (plural transtrenders)
(slang, derogatory) A person who affects a transgender or non-binary gender identity for perceived social benefit.
October 30, 2025 at 1:04 PM
That’s your opinion. As a medical transitioner, I disagree that it’s helpful to create what I see as unnecessary divisions and labels
October 30, 2025 at 1:00 PM
Why should the average normie person know more today about HRT than 10 years ago? I don’t know what most people with medical needs that aren’t my own, and imo, it’s unreasonable to expect that they do. I care that the average person treats me with respect and lets me manage my med care as I see fit
October 30, 2025 at 12:58 PM
Personally, I don’t believe that the losses by the trans movement in recent years are because of the inclusion of non-medically transitioning trans people. There are plenty of other reasons, not least of which is a concerted, highly funded wave of propaganda and misinformation
October 30, 2025 at 12:55 PM
The belief that non-medical-transition transgender people are “cis/cis-like” traces the same exact line as “transtrenders”. This is why people think this argument is “transmedicalist” by at least one broadly recognized definition of it. It’s the same argument with different words
October 30, 2025 at 12:53 PM
I never thought the author wanted to gate-keep medical transition. I do think the author wants to divide the community into two groups along the same exact lines that the transmed movement, as that is their stated goal. It is the division itself that I disagree with
October 30, 2025 at 12:45 PM
As I said, I understand your argument, I just disagree with it. I think we’re all better off working together for our freedom rather than splinter ourselves off into even smaller and less influential groups. Regardless of semantics, I believe this is where the previous transmed movement went wrong
October 30, 2025 at 12:39 PM
For the record, I am a trans person who has medically transitioned. I am familiar with the usage of transsexual before transgender became the preferred term, and used to use it myself. I no longer believe that it is useful or good to delineate in-groups and out-groups
October 30, 2025 at 12:37 PM
Also, to be clear, I don’t think you should be attacked or harassed over this. It’s wrong if people are being harsh or threatening. At the same time, I don’t think that disagreeing with you the same as attacking you
October 30, 2025 at 10:40 AM
You’re free to call yourselves whatever you want, I’m not stopping you. I just don’t think your argument is as logically sound as you think it is
October 30, 2025 at 10:38 AM
Your article also mischaracterizes all of your critics as non-medically transitioning people. This is also not true. I’m not jealous, hurt, or emotional about this, I just disagree with you
October 30, 2025 at 10:34 AM
Your new definition of transsexual takes the definition of transmedicalism, and merely replaces “transgender” with “transsexual”. You’re not saying they’re not transgender, but you are saying they’re not transsexual. That is akin to transmedicalism, just tweaked slightly
October 30, 2025 at 10:29 AM
I think, despite what you may think, that many of us understood what you were saying the first time, we just disagreed. You’re redefining transsexual, but you’re also redefining transmedicalist to mean “one who gatekeeps medical transition”, when that isn’t the broadly accepted definition
