The grant is meant largely to inspire new #collaborations and foster research across disciplines and geographical borders.

Our goal is to build on exciting efforts by Botanical Gardens across the globe to decolonize their collections and institutions.

We're particularly interested in asking how Botanical Gardens can function not only as educational sites for e.g. botany but also for (colonial) history.

The Utrecht team consists of Gertjan Plets, myself and @mette.bsky.social.

Mette and I will lead a work package on Botanical Gardens, which fosters collaborations with the Herbarium in Suriname and with @m-azzolini.bsky.social of the University of Bologna.

Het behoeft benadrukking: dit had voorkomen kunnen worden. Er was géén meerderheid EK voor wat voor bezuinigingen dan ook. De oppositie is hier gewoon de boot in gegaan.

Het wordt nog veel gekker. We gaan de bezuinigingen op onderwijs terugdraaien door... te bezuinigen op onderwijs.
Wie verzint dit? Wat een farce.
