Abolish time and value
We don't talk about the specific abomination of for-profit hospitals. The insurance system in the US is so disturbing and broken we don't have the bandwidth to appreciate the on-the-ground horror that is surplus value extraction at fucking psychiatric hospitals.

My PDF of Freud's Beyond the Pleasure Principle is "Beyond_the_PP.pdf", which is a great parapraxis. Whoever did this, kudos.

Alan Knight's books on the history of Mexico / Mesoamerica are excellent; it's a tragedy he never got to finish the 3rd volume.

I've always like Donna Haraway's 'Fossil-making Man'. This crisis is the responsibility of homo fossilium-faciens not anthropos. They consume fossils and labor to produce more fossils. Infinite growth of death.

'This is the political economy of the Abraham Accords sequels: a unification of Israeli and Gulf capital in the process of making money by producing oil and gas. This is the political ecology of normalisation: sacralisation of the business-as-usual that destroys first Palestine and then the Earth.'

i hate the discover feed libs mocking elon musk in bigoted ways for the obvious reason but also because it stems solely from him being on the wrong 'side.' if he did all the same shit but in support of biden they'd be buying cybertrucks. "we've got the world's greatest inventor on our side!" etc

“We hardly believe any longer that a global situation can give rise to an action which is capable of modifying it—no more than we believe that an action can force a situation to disclose itself, even partially.”

The Covid pandemic was a "socialism or barbarism" moment. As a society we could either accept the premise that our health is a collective matter, that vaccinations and sick days help everyone, or we could double down on the fiction of purely individual health. We clearly did the latter.

2024 was the hottest year in record. Would be so cool if anyone actually cared. Instead we get to wishcast tech that doesn't exist to fix the 'overshoot' we decided was unavoidable. I honestly believe extinction is in the cards.
