sequels are weird. i think the farther in you go the more fans will associate qualities that belong to you as an author to the one game/IP/series they enjoyed. becoming increasingly dependent on something that you may find no longer moves you is scary.

It was an absolute cacophony, and w/ hindsight I am not surprised people were so afraid of the thing. Sometimes I play a game, think abt how good it'd work w the SC1, get the desire to pull it out of the closet, but remember I have to spend an hr and a half making a config for it, so I don't lol...

You had to either dig thru tons of bad configs for a good one, or learn to bind it yourself, Valve did zero legwork in introducing it to ppl or standardizing a layout, devs were left to make their own bindings and didn't know what to do w the thing, ppl would give you conflicting advice on setup

I know there's gyro and back grips and some other nifty stuff in there, and that's fine. I'm sure it will be loved and sell well, and I do plan on grabbing one eventually. Though it's a bummer the original was sent out to die by Valve w zero support on their end, wasted potential imo.

I'm in the minority here but I really think they beat the shit out of analog sticks when it comes to aiming and camera movement, and it's a bummer bc this SC 2 seems to want me to use the analog sticks for that, unless I want to cramp up lol. So it's basically like my Xbox controller at that point.

at the end of the day the foundation is still built on a pulpy YA novel and that's fine, i dont want to talk much abt SM here but tbh you're allowed to indulge yrself w your art, idc. but jeez it's like, the right ppl at the right time were chosen to bring this v standard romance story to life lol
