understandable choice. Their experience of me and my actions is what should determine their comfort with me, not me saying I'm a safe person.
What is the difference between those two things? Assuming what someone is vs what they could be. I read the article as saying assume anyone with a Valknut

who aren't CN, but yeah, it could be.
If someone who identifies as femme says they treat all men as potent threats to their physical safety, I'm going to completely understand why and have no need to say why I'm not a threat or why not all men. They are making a (sadly) very reasonable and

I see it like this. The cross is a symbol of Christian nationalism. If someone said their default assumption of everyone who wears a cross is that they are a Christian nationalist, I'd say that it's more nuanced than that, and context matters a lot. There are plenty of folks who wear crosses

My intent certainly isn't to be dismissive, but yes, I'm countering the narrative that where there are symbols that are clearly signs of White Supremacy (swastika, black sun, 1488, ss, etc) this isn't in that category. A notable portion of the people with this tattoo have it for non-WS reasons.

That's fair. I have a different experience, but I'm unaware of any way to validate either position as factually accurate.

bullshit with facts. And to put a preverbal face to people who have such tattoos (I don't have a Valknut tattoo, but I do have rune tattoos).
I apologize for being long winded, and appreciate the question.

ready to educate. Another goal is to not allow fucking nazis and racists and fascists to take things that don't belong to them. They don't get the cultural heritage of any peoples indigenous to Europe (or anywhere else for that matter). A goal is to contest what they want to claim, to counter their

I have a few goals. As someone working in anti racist and anti fascist spaces, I want to be part of reaffirming context matters with things like some tattoos. People have every right to ask questions, and I believe it's incumbent on people with such tattoos to understand people's discomfort and be

I find a good source for many things Nordic symbol wise is the Kvasir symbol database. Specifically for the Valknut, here: www.mimisbrunnr.info/ksd-nazi-ger...
As for percentage of people, that is purely anecdotal. It's just a guess based on personal experience. Don't mean to imply otherwise.

While white supremacists definitely have these tattoos, and while in this context I'd say it's absolutely reasonable to assume this dude is a white supremacist, I'd add probably the majority of people who have this tattoo aren't white supremacists, and plenty are explicitly anti racist.

Uh, your episode yesterday was just a little prescient. Fuck.

As an American, I can say far more of us agree with you than you might think or the media suggests.

It's not that we didn't technically have opportunity to do things a different way, it's that it was just never actually going to happen. This challenge is what has been given to us. It is for us, in our time. May we rise to meet it, together.

It grows harder and harder for me not to see the many failures as a feature not a bug. Especially media/communication. I see the replies of the good that the Dems do, and there for sure is some, but I see far more what they could do but fail to even try. Or stop before real change is achieved.
