How do you fix a world where Musk can spend $44bn buying and using up Twitter? And even turn a profit after the election result? What is left of the media - or democratic politics - given influence can be bought at this scale?

Is there any alternative answer to super progressive wealth taxes?

I was asked (repeatedly, aggressively) on the other platform for my lawyery views on Allison Pearson’s story.

I declined to comment because Ms Pearson is a famously unreliable narrator of events, and I wanted to wait for independent evidence.

Alas for Ms Pearson…
Allison Pearson: Police told me I was "accused of a non-crime hate incident".

Essex police bodycam footage: "It’s gone down as an incident or offence of potentially inciting racial hatred online. That would be the offence."
