'Around here' is north of the Dakotas in Canada, kind of the northern great plains. Same here for horses. Prairie dogs are a lot bigger up to 3lbs, gophers (we call them) are up to 1/2lb. I love the little guys, and iconic prairie mammal. We have another, more west. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Columbi...
