The 🇺🇸 for several decades are victims of their own Cold War mentality: the uncertainty of what might follow after 🇷🇺's fall, scares them too much. They prefer to keep an old, infirm giant barely standing but that they know well, rather than face the unknown trying to have an impact on the world
Russia is overextend with this war, weakening and increasingly selling itself out to China to continue. The motivation not to hurt Russia too much and to withhold aid from Ukraine perversely turns Russia into a Chinese client state and excites geopolitics.
