Very much this. A dear friend left academia after her PhD to find a very rewarding career using those talents, and so many of her colleagues still in academia still feel sorry for her for not 'sticking it out'.

The Zojirushi is in thr 'from my cold dead hands' class of appliances. Compared to our old electric kettle, the Zojirushi takes 1/3 the electricity to boil and keep 5 liters of water hot compared to boiling 1.5 liters once in the kettle. 'Always ready' is the game changer for sure
