Hello @edusky.bsky.social, for the first time 👋

I keep returning to #SAMR when reflecting on the impact of #AI on teaching and learning… in short, when used in the classroom, AI has to add value, transforming the learning experience. #EduSky

Multiple sources are now reporting LLMs aren't scaling as hoped—larger datasets and more compute aren't improving AI systems as fast.

The companies, naturally, are pressing on, calling for billions more in investment. One way to read this: The hope is to make AI too big to fail.

One of fascism's main tactics is to physically and mentally exhaust you. To flood the zone with outrageous bullshit, to make you bite on a dozen pump-fakes — so that when the real shot comes, you're too worn out to react.

We need to pace ourselves. It's only been a week. Alert fatigue is dangerous

I think about and grapple with #generativeAI a lot. An issue I worry about is that we can't adequately develop processes for using a new technology until we clearly understand its limitations without virtue signaling our alignment either "pro" or "against" it. blog.still-water.net/ai-made-me-b...

This is one of my favorite articles on generative AI, in which Eryk Salvaggio unpacks how we're talking about it, who's providing that language, and what it all means. www.techpolicy.press/challenging-...

Eryk Salvaggio says we must dispense with myths if we are to think more clearly about what AI actually is and does.

X has a new terms of service that goes into effect on November 15. It says that by using X, you agree that everything you post can be used to train their AI models.
