These results hold strong across alternative specs: repeated protest exposure (number of events) and protest participants (various operationalization).

We find:
1) local anti-racist protest reduced AfD vote shares in German Federal Election 2021 and in the European Election 2024;
2) Green benefitted from anti-racist protests in the German Federal Election 2021, but not anymore in the European Election 2024.

🧮Methodologically, we employ a diff-in-diff design to study how local anti-racist protests affected anti-migration (AfD) and pro-migration (Green party) vote share.
