Light in the cracks, or light out of the cracks—either way, light.

A cracked asphalt play area, with a small set of white bleachers and a red soccer net to the left. Behind, a dirt baseball diamond. In nearly all of the cracks, blooming dandelions, creating tiny rivers of yellow light within the aging grey asphalt.

Tiny 5 petaled purple flowers peek out from green leaves and leftover dead leaves etc from last autumn A line of blossoms: a budding yellow daffodil, another yellow flower but not sure what kind, and 2 purple hyacinths. New pink-purple buds on a just-flowering bush set in grey-brown mulch.

I am super super late for #SmallBeautiesHour but I had to share: the other day, just green shoots here & there. Now tiny flowers, in defiance of the cold!
A very small dark purple hyacinth nestled among its bright green vertical leaves, planted in greyish brown mulch.
