They’ve chosen to fold in the immediate aftermath of election results that gave them a clear mandate to fight.
Think about that.
They’ve arranged their votes to enable them fold while also appearing to oppose—and they will fundraise off the appearance.

Now 600,000 people are dead—and 14 million will die by 2030, according to the Lancet. This is the running death toll of tech fascism.

One analytical model shows that, as of November 5th, the dismantling of U.S.A.I.D. has already caused the deaths of 600,000 people, two-thirds of them children. https://newyorkermag.visitlink.me/jUzNSc

This is an excellent thread on the economic underpinnings of our country’s descent into fascism and the antifascist, democratic alternatives that leaders like Mamdani offer us as a way forward.

This leads to what I mean by antifascist economics. It doesn’t target one party; it tackles the material conditions that make fascism appealing: insecurity, despair, unmet basic needs. Policies that make life affordable are not just social policy, they are democracy insurance.

Trump is demolishing the White House – which is far from the worst thing this regime is doing, yet significant nonetheless as it really captures Trump’s authoritarian pretensions. Trump is destroying public goods, because the very concept is utterly alien to him.
