I made the switch because I was frustrated by Scrivener's long-standing refusal to implement citation manager support. I have been using Zotero since 2008 and while it worked with Scrivener through Zotero 6, it's now on Zotero 7 and they don't play nice. So I gave up and switched.

Nope. I find it hard to work with extremely large documents in Word - I recently switched my dissertation from Scrivener to Zettlr.

Have you-know-who shown up in the past few years?

@aivalentin.bsky.social I highly recommend Trudy Suggs of TS Writing.

Yes, I'm pretty sure we just collided with each other, and it definitely stung me twice in the neck - and then when I was trying to figure out why I was in pain, and I was touching my neck, it got my fingers.

First Aid gave me hydrocortisone and lidocaine and bandaids. It's a little sore but okay!

And I could be wrong here. I couldn't find any indication that the chosen fellows are deaf, but maybe someone is. The current optics, though, feel disappointing.

It feels like deaf people miss seats at the table even in disability justice settings, and it feels like it's because we're expensive.

I'm not mad the organization didn't pick me personally, and the chosen fellows all look amazing!

But we know how expensive deaf accessibility is, and seeing that they managed to avoid paying for it...it feels funny.

I got some prescriptive exposure to person-first language too, I'm much more a fan of identity-first now. But the ableds only ever want person-first for disabled. They allow "gay person" but not "deaf person." ✨ Ableism ✨
