Remember Catz? I don't think I've thought about them in 20 years but I sure remember!

Some pictures from my travels! I should've shared more while en route, but such is life. At least I can share one selfie per country.

1. On the Cutty Sark in London (7/27)
2. At the Jardin Luxembourg (8/4)
3. Inside Ghent's city hall (8/6)
4. Ready for the Hugos in Seattle (8/16)

I got a season pass so I can go again with friends, but if this is my last time at Six Flags America, I enjoyed it solo. I walked right onto every ride I wanted, make the swings my first stop as always, and saw the remains of the oldest ride I remember since I started coming nearly 40 years ago.

The best part of being the interpreter scheduler for an event is I get to assign them to myself sometimes. So I got to see @seananmcguire.bsky.social and @scalzi.com anyway, even though I had to leave early because (as expected) a separate interpreter crisis popped up.

You and I share points of marginalization so I think you should have some joy, too. I know your job means you see the political stuff, but here, have a cute kitty, as a treat.

You know, when I think about the Mega Goddess's Romancing Slot, pachinko is not what's on my mind.(Funabashi, Chiba)

Today has been challenging, and I am finding joy tonight in the fact that less than a month from now, I will have a delicious bowl of vegan sesame tantanmen at T's Tantan in Ueno for ¥1200 ($7.65).

I will take my joy where I can get it. 😋

Here's all the parameters of ASL signs in a single image! (3/3)

If you're studying ASL, I hope these are helpful for you, too. Remember - learn from deaf instructors whenever possible. (2/3)

Understanding how American Sign Language signs can be differentiated is a huge help when you're just starting out learning the language! I created these graphics for a friend who's taking their first ASL class - each image references the sign for "cat." (1/3)

Going through some old memes on my phone and found this gem from @bullenross.bsky.social. Pretty sure this was shortly after my alma mater unveiled its new mascot design, too...

Here comes a big change...I'm leaving the traditional workforce to begin a freelance career! After 11 years as the director of the National Deaf Life Museum, I'm ready for a new challenge. I know my late mentor, who founded NDLM, would be jumping for joy at my new venture. My last day is Dec 31.

And, of course, the Asahi offices in Sumida-ku, Tokyo.

My latest ink, drawn by Lennox Zher, inked by Liaa Walter. Tardigrades aka "water bears" are microscopic animals 1st discovered in the 18th c. They survive extreme heat and freezing cold, pressure higher than the Mariana Trench, and the vacuum of outer space. They are indestructible - and so am I.

Downloaded an app called Happy Color and these are the first two things I colored. Much better.

Watch for this face coming soon to a National Air and Space Museum exhibit near you! Well, if you live in Washington DC, anyway. Just completed an interview about my vision for the future of human space travel. 😊
