It isn't really debt in the sense that individuals incur debt at all. The US government is the wealthiest entity in the history of civilization. We are in zero danger of not being able to cover expenses.

I was about to comment something similar. I've been to Huntsville multiple times for work (NASA), and found it to be very different from stereotypical Alabama.
