Unboxings, video game streams, asmr, dodgy peppa pig cartoons, ai slop… YouTube kids is an utter cesspool. There’s some great content out there but never let children use YouTube unattended.

If VPNs are outlawed (and putting aside all the legitimate uses that will be messed up by such legislation) there’s a high risk of ultimately pushing internet users to TOR which has all manner of nasties. Online Unsafety Act more like.

The aisle on that ai generated train is so wide you could fit a pacer down the middle of it.

I do continue to sprinkle a small amount of cheap powder into the pre-wash though. :)

I used powder for a long time thanks to you but recently switched back precisely because, as you mention, store brand powder formulation just isn’t very good. For £12 I get 74 pods/16p per. By contrast EcoGeek is £33.60 (w/shipping) for ~40 washes/84p per. Sadly for Brits it works out >5x the cost

The “art” in those ai colouring books don’t even make sense and often can’t actually be coloured. All the lines are blurred, smeary or just mushed together. Colouring books have 1 job and the ai fails at that.

The “funny cat video” genre is now totally fucked by Ai slop flooding the platforms. I think there might be a place for these AI videos for memes and amusement (cats at Olympics for example) but when they depict fairly basic fails or go for realism I can’t feel the same way watching them.

It’s why my next vehicle is going to be a minivan. Every suv crossover looks the same, is less convenient than a hatchback and has less boot space than an estate.
