Every drawing my kids make is a miracle. I also just trashed fifty of them because you can only hang up so many miracles on the fridge.

@aptshadow.bsky.social the most impressive thing about the final architecture trilogy is you continuing to find ways to describe Idris’ brain turning into pudding

Why are we still putting up with toilet paper math? “1 roll = 7 rolls”, a package of 8 rolls is somehow 32 rolls. Paper towels don’t get a free pass on this one either, they’re just as bad.

@aptshadow.bsky.social I just listened to Children of Memory again (love Mel’s Kern) and I think I liked it better the second time around. Because
I knew what was going on, it almost read like a comedy or a cozy mystery book, if that makes any sense.

@aptshadow.bsky.social Hey, I’m loving Shards of Earth. I was wondering if the old Deathworld novels from the 60s were any inspiration for the native life on Jericho. You mention “death worlds” along the way, so I figured it was.

Jenny Cook, Philadelphia “mother of the year”, protested the destruction of her neighborhood as part of a “slum clearing” project. Unlike some 8,000 people, she would be fortunate enough to stay in her home for the rest of her days. Photo courtesy Temple University Library Special Collections.

The Beulah Baptist church in SW Philly was forced to relocate during the Eastwick urban redevelopment project of the 1950s. The church where Patti Labelle learned the gospel would move permanently to West Philly. Find out more in TINICUM & EASTWICK. #history Photo courtesy The Philadelphia Tribune.

Augustus Wesley (center), an emancipated slave and centenarian, was ejected from his home in the Philly neighborhood of Eastwick during the urban redevelopment of the 1950s. This was just one of the many injustices documented in my book TINICUM & EASTWICK. Photo courtesy The Philadelphia Tribune.
