Hello, Doctor. I bring you the Seal of Unsettling Feelings, contained within this coffee mug.
I write queer high fantasy horror of the pitchiest kind.

I don’t skip, but I always have to grit my teeth over a lobotomy scene. Oof.

OMG. I love it.

Wake up babe, new ELVES VS ALIENS just dropped. In this installment, meet Eagle. Is he a god? Is he a monster? Whatever he is, it’s bored and lonely. Read for free: open.substack.com/pub/menyoral...

I have actually been thinking about this all day, if you can believe it. Many of my characters view themselves as something apart—and they are immortal monsters. They just like it that way.

Your characterization sounds thoughtful, especially since you mentioned they’re always together.

Thank you so much for listening, btw. Right now I’m working on introducing a world of giant moth people who harvest corn. There’s going to be trouble.

Secondly—ELVES VS ALIENS. I love this story. Me and my best friend took characters from our own series and made them talk to each other. This is what came out.

Shells wrote the first chapter. If you want to find out what happened next, read this for free! open.substack.com/pub/menyoral...

…warps around the effect, so it will create (or create gateways to?) other crazy fantasy worlds. It’s portal fantasy within high fantasy, and where I’m setting the scene is often as important as who’s in it, so that’s why I say it’s a character. And you are fully expected to figure it out yourself 😅

Well, one character is the member of an ancient race that rules the nexus of realities, and the other is a young cosmic horror/god/thing, whom fairies worship—so I am aware it’s complicated, lol. But how I have it is that the more magic in one place at one time, the more reality and space…

First and foremost: Elsewhere. This is a pitch-black fairy tale soap opera (queer fantasy/horror) with an uncommon Dude In Distress and a steaming pile of movie-monster villains. Triggers? Most of them, but I’ve been told it’s handled with grace and style.

I could talk about it until people ran away screaming, weeping, sackcloth and ashes 😂

Score! I got in under the wire for In Fog! 🤭

Ooh, I’m spoiled for choice here, it seems.

That sounds like a blast. Switching it up can yield the most fun stuff sometimes.

I am into anything and everything—show me what you’ve got—but I humbly request a warning for any lobotomy scenes.

I really love alien POV myself. (Once I wrote about a tree. Now it’s a young eldritch horror in elfin shape.) A Lich sounds so fun, too.

I’ll look forward to it! Which one would you recommend in the meantime?
November 5, 2025 at 12:56 AM
It sounds like you’re doing something a little more experimental with POV—is that correct? Which of your characters is the most fun to write about?
November 5, 2025 at 12:52 AM
You can do it. Internet stranger says so. 🤭
