Please, Muirrach is showing a million green flags! Don’t you want a man who can walk in four-inch heels? A Shadow Daddy who can make your toes curl? One with a convenient tendency toward the amoral?

Then I had a surprise mass in my brain. I was a ghostwriter—got fired because my brain was acting fool AGAIN. Now… 1/?

So so many in ELVES VS ALIENS. Shells does a thing with Faerie and Earth together, and I do (admittedly strange) high fantasy, so for once I got to use all the pop culture references I wanted. Her MC Katie calls mine (Fox) a Disney Princess because he’s pretty and he sings to himself. (For a start!)

I have been thinking about this a lot. Back when I was first starting to self-publish my writing, reading and rereading stuff like the Chronicles of Prydain (and seeking out Lloyd Alexander’s other work—super fun girl archaeologist) really inspired me and kept me going.

I bought this a week ago. An offering from a longtime friend and future collaborator. 💖
I’m not participating in a write-a-thon this year, though I have in the past. Simply put: when I’m not too sick to write, I’m a menace with pen, keyboard, or phone in my hands. I can slap it down clean and fast, 1-4k/daily, edit faster, but I’ve had a lot of practice. (Used to ghostwrite.)

There are a lot of people with Main Character Energy in ELVES VS ALIENS (the point!). Nevertheless, I am going with Eagle, my eldritch horror in elfin form. He’s 5 feet of stone killer, but all the pixies worship him. A little bit of pixie dust?

You know those evil, scheming vizier/royal advisor guys? Your Jafar, your Starscream, I could go on. Muirrach Lieseassar is that guy. He’s supposed to be ruling his own fiefdom, but instead, he’s licking the Rev Lieseassar’s pretty red boots and wringing money from every world he can.

People don’t always take kids’ books seriously. It’s really nice to see everyone’s thoughts on their favorites. I love kids’ books—maybe a surprise, if you know what I write—and I think they should be appreciated on the same level adult books are. Kids are people just as much.
