Been working on a theory of the last 20ish years: Crank Capture. The media has unwittingly always relied on the cranks of society to drive their outrage machines, and because of phones and SM almost 100% of cranks are now fully stewed in 24/7 right-wing propaganda.

Don't be mad that the president is dumb enough to also believe in all the same anti-western propaganda

Great pivot away from complaining that both parties are the same.

Seems like the press pool feels the exact same way.

We dont need many people to comprehend it, just everyone in legacy media, and give them the backbone to say it out loud.

Managing anxiety over situations like stressful testing is supposed to be something that college teaches you.

In engineering school at least, extra time can be a big advantage since a lot of exams are designed to take longer than the time allowed. 20 years ago, kids were already trying to game the learning disability system for more time.

Some real horseshoe theory in action on this one.

Didn't realize there was still anywhere left in the entire US that wasn't more than 1 mile from a gym.

I think the steelman argument would actually be that once all the low hanging pollution fruit were picked (after the early 90s or so) every additional regulation paid ever diminishing returns in exchange for ever increasing costs.

The UK has spent the last 50+ years punching itself in the dick with an endless string of atrocious energy policies. Its a symptom of an almost fetishization of suffering and deprivation in their national psyche. Enough people are finally getting sick of it.

We’re watching a shift where AI simulates the cohesion and reinforcement that used to require an entire online community. A single person can now build a complete parallel reality with nothing more than a prompt window. Which seems bad.

Out of nowhere? Libya and Syria almost always talked about together, especially regarding US intervention vs non-intervention. You were the one that brought up the CIA out of nowhere.
November 15, 2025 at 9:14 PM
Ah yes, the CIA, so omnipotent that they are responible for every bad thing that's happened since the 50s, yet so impotent that they couldn't stop any of the good things that happened either.

Oh yeah, we totally forced Assad and Putin to gas and barrel bomb civilians with glee.

And now all of a sudden you have a problem with trying to help out internationally oppressed minorities?

Fewer than the million that were murdered in Syria over the last 15 years.

I suppose you approve of the how the non-intervention in Syria worked out.
