in the options presented*, i mean! it’s not always bad, like i usually do enjoy playing Obsidian games as an irreverent smartass, but it grates when i have a specific idea for a character concept that i just can’t carry through in the dialogue.

the ‘diplomacy’ system sucks ass tbh but there’s something more immersive to me about just having a list of topics you can raise and using your imagination to fill the gaps

the problem with dialogue trees for me, apart from the very salient points Doc raises, is that there’s always a writer’s voice in how the options that affects what i feel ‘makes sense’ for the character

i’ve never played the game without JSawyer installed because imo it is absolutely fundamental to the experience. it’s basically the director’s cut

i didn’t really follow the game after it released, good to see its reception has improved! from current reviews it sounds like Civ 7 led to it getting a more positive view than before, lol

it’s incredibly ironic that amplitude followed on from this concept with a mediocre Civ clone

DOG TIP: when you import dogs and print them, they will come gut-loaded with normie bacteria that will turn them Randy-colored as they mutate. you can purge their biome by feeding them a bunch of burnt dog biscuits from the dessert feeder as fast as possible to prevent any mutation
