Epic fantasy Santa Claus (Father Christmas) is the thread that binds CS Lewis, JRR Tolkien, and L Frank Baum.

Hair Metal, disco to an extent (though less than a few years earlier) and I think the Clintons made Fleetwood Mac terminally uncool for a few years there.

Willow’s a favorite of mine. Willow himself and Madmartigan are amazing characters and half the villains’ names are catty references to film critics who didn’t like Star Wars.

The thing is that our Head of State and our Head of Government is the same person, which is kind of unusual. The Head of Government can just have an office, but the Head of State is expected to throw big fancy parties and show off on behalf of the country.
