If the law stops you from helping a child then you probably weren’t going to help anyways
I’m sure the ADL’s heart goes out to him.

Insulting you? You called people “dumb as fuck.” Why don’t you go take a long hard look in the mirror, hypocrite.

Nah. That which can be presented without evidence can be dismissed without evidence.

I don’t particularly care about civility. I’m sorry you’ve had a negative experience with some person but I’ve outlined why I disagree and what it would take to convince me.

This does not counter the idea that slurs against non-humans could act as a pressure relief valve reducing slurs against people. We can all have our pet theories but until there’s some hard evidence I’m unwilling to accept the premise.

Because this is how we get single intervention therapy. “Well it’s better than nothing, right?” Turns out single intervention therapy is useless. That’s why I care about the published literature.

Maybe it’s good to insult non-humans as it alleviates some pressure to insult people. Who can say?

But thank you for the citation. It was an interesting read. I personally am of the opinion that if you want to claim some fields says X then you should provide evidence that in fact, the field says X.

The "norm of tolerance" theory applies specifically to those high in prejudice already.

What I haven't seen evidence of is that one prejudice can increase other prejudices (against different groups). And I still think that's a hike from prejudices against AI increase prejudice against people.

Dude. I specifically outlined my disagreement. Either put up or shut up.
January 2, 2026 at 11:11 PM
Because I haven't seen any studies that would indicate that slur use can be habituated across contexts/ideology. Even what Karistina pointed to specifically calls out those high in prejudice against the specific target group. All the studies I've read point to context/ideology specific habituation

I have an MS in psychology. Your point in that thread is misplaced when discussing these with me.

Moreover I find it upsetting that you would simultaneously gesture to professional research but refuse to provide that evidence.
January 2, 2026 at 9:47 PM
I have an MS in Psychology with an emphasis on research. Please provide the studies you believe support your position that using slurs increases use of future slurs.

You did the thing you didn’t understand. Nice job.

It’s always unexpected when people stick to their principles and change ways.

I personally think ACAB is a worthwhile phrase.

You pointed to psychology elsewhere to support your anti slur argument as using one slur increases acceptance of other slurs. Could you cite a specific study?

To me, the ‘B’ stands for ‘bastard’ but I know some people just say ‘bad.’ Would you denounce people saying all cops are bastards because it loosens the ‘bastard’ slur?
December 31, 2025 at 7:19 PM
Out of curiosity, how have you conceptualized the ‘B’ in ACAB?
December 31, 2025 at 7:12 PM
Nope. Just hope.

Always love to see a propagandist slink away with their tail between their legs. Didn’t expect people to counter with evidence did you?
