If you follow me for art stuff, my comments are going to annoy you, because like 70% of them are on churchy/politcal things & another 20% are books & movies.

If you follow me bc of my comments, my feed is going annoy you, because it's 90% art & 10% whatever on earth else.

Apologies in advance.

My constituent, Wilmer, was mauled by an ICE attack dog despite the fact that, as he has consistently explained, he was not resisting arrest or trying to flee—his wife and young children, all U.S. citizens, were forced to watch helplessly as Wilmer was violently attacked and dragged away.

A gift guide for super-fans - as long as they're fans of what I'm a fan of, which I guess is a little specific.

Just a friendly reminder as we go into the holidays:

Folks don't have to explain to you why they don't drink.

If you offer them a drink and they decline, don't ask them why. It's not your business.

Just offer them something without alcohol to drink instead. And move on.

Each year, offices engage in truly wild behavior around gifting and holiday parties.

I'm please to currently work somewhere behaving properly about the holidays, but in solidarity with those who do not - this article should mysteriously appear in the office, I'm sharing this link
Every Year, We Get Gifts From Clients for “the Whole Office to Enjoy.” Get a Load of What My Boss Does With Them.
It's a regular CSI investigation in my office during the holidays.

There are an amazing number of businesses that don't want to answer questions via email.

They have email.
They respond to email.
But the response is that you should call the office to ask your questions.

Business owners, this immediately makes me loath you.

The reason you see AI pushed so hard in products, ads and promoted posts is that they know people don't WANT to use it but they are desperate to recoup on their millions in investments.

They wouldn't be over-saturating your feed with AI tools if people were buying these things on their own.

It's snowy outside and I hate that. But if it has to snow I should be curled up with a book and a hot chocolate, not designing ads for a pawn shop 😂

We rarely post news stories, but this is a significant and impactful story from @alexreisner.bsky.social @ the atlantic, detailing just how Common Crawl is scraping the internet for AI companies and accepting takedown requests but doing nothing: www.theatlantic.com/technology/2...
The Nonprofit Doing the AI Industry’s Dirty Work
Common Crawl claims to provide a public benefit, but it lies to publishers about its activities.

I love stars as a design element. I especially love kinda like mid-mod vintage stars.

Saw some jack-o-lanterns using stars as the carve out and I KNOW I'm not going to get around to carving a pumpkin, so I'm absolutely incorporating the design into an illustration.

Excuse me Miss M, you will need to stick to gardening & solving crime, because *what*?

No, this is not better than a bandage.

Agatha Christie is a favorite author & one of Agatha's favorite tropes is the poisoned chocolate box.

(The Chocolate Box, Peril at End House, They Do It With Mirrors, Bertram's Hotel)

It's, almost always, a double blind. But the girl in my illo had better hope there's a clever sleuth on hand.

1. Go to ‘Refine your recommendations’ and remove everything related to ‘generative AI interests’.
