I’m currently plotting and planning a book by Elizabeth Kubla Ross called on Death and dying. Rather than looking at grief it will be a novel exploring the impact of ‘a good death’ on the person dying as well as friends and family. It’s a subject that has interested me for many years.

I met this lovely chap the other day. I do love goats, they are pure unadulterated mischief and they make no apologies for that. I admire them.

Enjoyed cooking this up today. Perfect for me post gastric bypass but my hungry college student son grabbed a bowl when he came home earlier and loved it as well. A grating of black pepper hits the spot!

This week I started the last year of my 40s! I’m really looking forward to 50. It seems very grown up! Highlights of this week have been trying new foods post my gastric bypass. No birthday cake though, not ready for cake yet. Pictures of my birthday presents x

I watched a film called’ Turn me On’ last week. It was about a cult where people are given a ‘ vitamin’ which removes all emotion from them. They live a very sedate life. One day the resident doesn’t take it and what follows is very interesting. But today I wouldn’t mind the vitamin.

This lovely gentle soul has just sat by my side as I’ve had an afternoon nap. I’m feeling not so 100 per cent as I try to eat puréed foods and my body learns to digest them. Her love is healing x

One of the best things about ‘ having to recover’ is that I can read to my hearts content! Always after recommendations!

Touched base with clients today after a week off . So glad I did, felt the love; people genuinely wanting to know how I was and I even got a booking. It can be lonely sat in your house in your head as a freelancer so good to reach out!

So this was a big week for me. I had gastric bypass surgery on Tuesday. Recovering gently and well. Lots of dozing. No photos unless you wish to see my scars! I’m guessing not x
