Yeah in Mixxx these days there is like a file tree on the left, so you could keep your folders for deffo

Have you ever tried a DJ program like Mixxx for that? mixxx.org
You can organise stuff into “crates” and/or playlists, might be handy. Works with keyboard shortcuts too, you wouldn’t necessarily need a DJ controller.
Also, haven’t tried this, but you can stream directly from there
